The LX 570 was a complete redesign of the LX, and the first version of Lexus' largest SUV to premiere before its expected Land Cruiser counterpart. The LX 570 features a new ULEV-II certified 5.7 L 3UR-FE V8 engine. Total engine output is rated at 383 horsepower (286 kW) and 403 ft·lbf (546 N·m) of torque. The more powerful engine helps give the LX an increased towing capacity of up to 8,500 pounds. The engine is tied to a six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission with an all-new 4WD system which uses an electronic Torsen center differential.
